Privacy Policy

Family Hub (“we,” “the app”) is a private household coordination app. It is not a public product with open registration — a household member invites you, and the data below is only ever visible to members of that one household. This page explains what we collect, why, and how it’s protected.

What we collect

Account info — your name, email address, and profile photo, from signing in with Google.
Calendar data — if you connect Google Calendar, the event details (title, time, location, attendees, description) on the specific calendars you authorize, so we can keep them in sync with the household calendar.
Content you or your household enter — calendar events, to-dos, chores, meal plans, recipes, goals, notes, and household budget/bill entries.
Push notification endpoint — if you enable notifications, your browser issues a push subscription we use only to deliver reminders you asked for.
Basic technical data — error reports (via Sentry) used only to find and fix bugs; these can include a stack trace and the page/action involved, not your calendar or household content.

How we use it

Solely to run the app for your household: showing your shared calendar, chores, and to-dos; syncing events to and from the Google Calendar(s) you connect; sending the reminders you configure; and diagnosing bugs. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Google user data specifically: Family Hub’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Calendar data is used exclusively to provide two-way calendar sync inside Family Hub for the household you belong to — never for advertising, never sold, and never used to train generalized AI/ML models.

Who can see it

Only the adults and profiles in your own household — every table is scoped by household at the database level (Postgres Row Level Security), so one household can never read another’s data. An optional kitchen kiosk display can show a read-only subset (today’s calendar, chores, to-dos) but never your connected Google account, private events, or budget data.

Children

A household can add “managed member” profiles (e.g. a child) so tasks can be assigned to them. These profiles have no login, no account, and no directly collected personal data — just a name and color entered by an adult in the household.

Third parties we use

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the app, each acting only on our instructions: Supabase (database, authentication, realtime sync), Google Calendar API (calendar sync, only for accounts you connect), Vercel (application hosting), Sentry (error monitoring), and standard Web Push services (browser notification delivery). None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

Security

Household data is isolated by database-level access policies; Google refresh tokens are encrypted at rest and never sent to any browser; the kitchen kiosk uses a short-lived, narrowly-scoped access token rather than a full household login.

Your data, your control

From Settings, any adult in the household can export all household data (JSON and calendar ICS export), disconnect Google Calendar at any time, and permanently delete the household and everything in it.
